Ashden Award for news

Ashden champions and promotes practical, local energy solutions that cut carbon, protect the environment, reduce poverty and improve people’s lives.

Pilio’s sMeasure software helps organisations monitor and manage their energy use and uses cutting edge analysis to bring weather adjusted performance and benchmarking to life to help realise and evaluate energy savings.

17 organisations from across the country have been short-listed for the 2014 UK Ashden Awards. Finalists will be announced in early April, with winners announced at a ceremony at the Royal Geographical Society on 22 May.

The Ashden Awards bring to light ground-breaking green energy champions in the UK and developing world and inspire others to follow. From an enterprise bringing clean stoves to rural Africa to a Cornish school embracing energy-saving across its learning and practice, our winners are passionate about bringing change to their communities and the planet.

Since the Ashden Awards was set up in 2001 they’ve helped more than 140 sustainable energy pioneers develop their work. Today the Awards are an internationally recognised yardstick for excellence in the field of green energy.

Ashden continues supporting winners in a range of ways from our work with policy-makers, to research and analysis and events to raise awareness of their solutions. Winners are shining examples of green energy in practice.

Catherine Bottrill, CEO of Pilio says, ‘We are thrilled that sMeasure has been short-listed for the Ashden Award. Being short-listed means we can reach more organisations to help them lower their emissions impact and ultimately save money, which better for businesses and better for the planet.’
