Culture and heritage organisations are custodians of our past and present for future generations to understand the journey of humanity. Culture brings people together to tell stories which have the opportunity to educate, inspire empathy, and influence positive behaviour. Heritage opens an opportunity for understanding how societies worked and how they related to the natural world around them, therefore creating space for exchange and consideration for creating the societies of today and tomorrow.

Pilio has worked with organisations across the culture and heritage sectors to implement holistic sustainability strategies in line with their organisational values and purpose. These organisations include Blenheim Estate, the English National Opera, the National Theatre, the Tate, Waddesdon Estate, and more.

Our work with Blenheim Palace

Over the last five years Pilio has been supporting the development and implementation of a sustainability strategy for Blenheim Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and Estate, which together sit on twelve thousand acres in Oxfordshire.

To support the Palace to reach net carbon negative by 2027, Pilio has worked with Blenheim to do the energy management of all properties, the carbon footprint of the visitor attraction, ESOS compliance, a net zero roadmap, biodiversity and ecological assessments, and support on the implementation of the environmental policy.
